Urban Campus
As your Councilman, I continue to work with the private sector developers and City staff in bringing the Urban Campus to life for Oak Cliff. This week at our City Council meeting, with my recommendation, the Council approved TIF financing for a new eastbound frontage road for I-30 located between Cockrell Hill and Westmoreland Road. This road will allow residents to drive from Pinnacle Park to the new Urban Campus. The Urban Campus is currently 181 acres of undeveloped land that is already in the works to being redeveloped for retail, commercial, and residential uses for Oak Cliff.

Public/Private partnership financing of a new multi-family complex called Taylor Farms was also approved at City Council on my recommendation. As part of the new Urban Campus, this complex will feature a mix of quality, market rate apartments, and affordable housing near the intersection of Westmoreland and Fort Worth Avenue.

West Dallas: El Centro West Campus
It was an honor to attend and speak at the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the new El Centro West Campus located at Hampton and Dennison. This new campus is strategically located to serve the citizens of West Dallas and specifically the students from LG Pinkston High School. We are looking forward to a stronger partnership between the Dallas County Community College District, the City of Dallas, LG Pinkston, and the West Dallas community.

Colorado: Zang Triangle Project
After working with private sector developers, I am honored to have obtained City Council approval for a public/private partnership project for a 4-story mixed-use building at the corner of Zang and Colorado. The Zang Triangle project will include quality residential units and retail space in a pedestrian friendly environment with quick and easy access and views to Downtown.

I remain focused on providing leadership for these and many other projects of economic development, advocacy for our community issues, and improved public safety with police patrols in your neighborhood.
Please keep in touch!
