My
priorities for District 3 are your priorities
We
have proven that the most successful way to represent District
3 is to engage, inform and empower
residents and neighborhood leaders on issues that matter
most to them. You help frame my priorities for the entire
District.

 |
Priority #1: Continue crime reduction in our community
Crime in District 3 has dropped a dramatic 15%
Our
efforts to improve police response, engage
citizens and reduce code violations that create
a criminal climate are paying off. The introduction of
neighborhood beat patrols last year has been
the cornerstone of this success. |

Priority
#2: Jobs and economic development
Dallas must not give up on initiating public/private partnerships
My
vision is for the City to provide essential city services while
also fostering public/private partnerships for economic development
in three promising District 3 areas: Fort Worth Avenue,
Bishop Arts District/West Davis Street, and Wynnewood
Village Shopping Center. |
 |
 |
 |
Priority
#3: Education
Our city needs
to develop a stronger relationship with DISD
Yes,
DISD is legally responsible for managing the schools. However,
the strengths of our neighborhoods are dependent upon public education
excellence. Families' expectations of quality education must be
met and DISD must meet those expectations. |

Priority
#4: Trinity River Corridor Project
Even
with its recent challenges, this project is essential for future
growth
The
Trinity Project's transportation, trails, lakes, and park facilities
will attract visitors from near and far. Strengthening
and raising the river's levees will provide long-term flood
protection. A by-product will be economic growth.
We must maintain the project's urgency and remain cost-effective. |
