I wanted to personally reach out to you and follow up on the city's actions following the snowstorm of last week and how it impacted your family and neighborhood. Please don't hesitate to contact me via email or by phone if you have any questions regarding the issues I am addressing below.
Storm Damage Clean-up
The City of Dallas Streets and Sanitation department are working 7 days a week now to clear up tree limbs that have fallen based on this past weekends record snowfall. We anticipate at least another 30 days of cleanup in order to reach all the affected neighborhoods.
You are encouraged to put your fallen limbs and trees in the same location you would place your bulk trash as soon as possible. Sanitation will be picking up these tree limbs on your regular bulk trash day. You can find when your neighborhoods bulk trash days are by checking the schedule HERE.
Code Compliance will not be citing homeowners for tree limbs out in advance of your scheduled pickup until March 15th in order to give Sanitation an opportunity to pick up your bulk trash.
Electric Outages from Storm
We've received feedback from many citizens about frustrations with Oncor's service in regards to the outages from the storm. In many cases we were able to intervene and assist although not all.
Due to your concerns, I and other City Councilmembers have requested a public briefing by Oncor with the City Council in March. We want to have a better understanding of what their process and priority system is for restoring power in situations such as this snowstorm.
